I’m a big believer in the law of attraction and manifesting what we want in our lives.  I have seen in my own life how harnessing my thoughts and changing my mindset can create real change.  Affirmations are one way we’re often told will help us get there but they don’t always work.  I share why in my video below, Why Affirmations Don’t Work & What To Do Instead.

When I first began trying to change my thoughts I did it to break free from the binge restrict cycle with food and my body image issues.  I had tried everything else and finally after hitting a rock bottom, I realized I needed to change my mindset and the thoughts in my head that kept telling me I was worthless.  It was hard and I really struggled initially, so I would just think of something completely different.  In the video below I share a tip I’ve learned more recently from a couple of mentors.

Let me know if this makes sense to you!  For me it was a total aha moment, when I realized I needed to truly believe the affirmations or thoughts I was trying to shift my mindset to thinking.  Of course getting under the belief systems that keep you stuck in the cycle is important too and this is something I work on with client’s in my 3 month program.  I use the Cognitive Approach to help my client’s shift their mindset so they can finally break free from body image and eating issues.
