33 Things I Learned In My 33rd Year: Part 1

33 Things I Learned In My 33rd Year

Today is my 33rd birthday and being right around the new year, it always leads to reflection of the previous year.  This past year has been an immense year of learning and growth for me.  I did my 200hrs yoga teacher training, worked with a psychologist and am 7 months into a certification which will allow me to help women as a coach to stop binge eating, by doing spiritual development work. This year I finally went deeper than mindset and began the process of peeling back the layers to get closer to my the core of who I am. I wanted to share 33 things I learned in my 33rd year on this planet. Continue reading “33 Things I Learned In My 33rd Year: Part 1”

Are You Confused About What Real Self-Love Is?

Are You Confused About What Real Self-Love Is?

Self-love is a hot topic these days and for good reason! The problem is, I’m noticing some confusion over what self-love really is. I recently had someone contact me asking me if I was interested in joining their self love challenge. This person went on to explain that the self-love challenge included workouts, a super flexible meal plan with portion control containers, superfoods meal replacement shake, as well as support and accountability. This actually kind of irritated me at first. Continue reading “Are You Confused About What Real Self-Love Is?”

Are You A Self-Sacrificer?

Are You A Self-Sacrificer?

You may think that’s a funny question, but self-sacrificing, also known as people pleasing is contributing to your struggle with food. The more I dig into the inner work for myself, the more I can see how much of a people pleaser I’ve been over the years. I can also see how much this has truly affected me in a negative way. It’s caused me to hold onto negative energy for years, which for a long time has been the perfect opportunity to numb with food. Continue reading “Are You A Self-Sacrificer?”

Why I Think You Should Feed Your Inner Child Ice Cream

Why I Think You Should Feed Your Inner Child Ice Cream

I talk a lot about intuitive eating and listening to our bodies when it comes to food.  As you know I am not big on labelling the way we eat or creating rules and restrictions around our diets.  I have addressed the fact that when we release control it doesn’t mean we will eat all the things, all the time.  When we truly listen to our body and not our mind, we will more often than not reach for whole foods.  Our bodies want to be healthy and feel good, but sometimes we get a craving for something like ice cream of fries, which I think we should feed our inner child. 5 Ways Healing Your Relationship With Food Can Improve Your Relationship With People

By now I’m sure you understand that food isn’t your problem and that the root cause of binge eating runs much deeper. When you do the inner healing work like looking at your belief systems that are creating distorted thoughts that keep triggering you, inner child work, mindfulness to increase your awareness, and practices to get you back in touch with trusting your body and intuition, you can’t not look at all the other areas of your life. Relationships are a big area of our lives and are definitely affected by our internal environment. Can You Be Body Positive And Still Want To Lose Weight?

Can You Be Body Positive And Still Want To Lose Weight?

I’ve noticed some confusion around wanting to be body positive and love your body, while still wanting to lose weight.  Even talk about wanting to nourish your body and eat in a way that supports your health can sometimes make those, who follow others in the body positive, anti-diet community, feel wrong.  I know initially I almost felt guilty for caring about my health and I’ve developed some thoughts on this that I want to share in this post today. 4 Ways To Stop Hating Your Body

4 Ways To Stop Hating Your Body

I see too many women hating their bodies and I get it because I used to hate mine too.  It stopped me from living my life, because I was uncomfortable in my skin.  I constantly thought about how I could make my body smaller, I berated it, called it terrible names, pinched it in disgust.  I cringe now thinking about how I’ve treated my body in the past.  Your body is the vehicle to your beautiful soul and deserves all the love and care you would give a child or beloved pet. Why Self-Care Is Not Enough

Why Self-Care Is Not Enough

Self-care is a hot topic these days and rightfully so.  Women are waking up to the importance of taking time for themselves and not putting others needs in front of their own, so that they can serve from a full cup.  There are many wonderful ways to incorporate self-care into your life including the usual Epsom salt baths, reading, yoga, getting a pedicure or massage.  These things are all great but they won’t be enough if you’re still stuck in negative thought patterns that are leading to undesirable actions and habits.  This is Why Self-Care Is Not Enough. How To Trust Your Body

How To Trust Your Body

So many women lose connection with their bodies from following external rules from diets, counting calories or macros and specific exercise programs.  They lose the ability to listen to their inner guidance system, which is the one thing we need to move towards our highest potential.  They get stuck up in their head and disconnected to their body, the one guru they should be listening to.  So in todays video I’m sharing how to trust your body.
